While January was a month full of a better-year spirits that encourage us to wake up and do our best each day. But when the carefree Christmas holiday nostalgic rolls in and work schedule is no longer excited, weekends and public holiday is all we look forward to. Although there are not so many days off to look forward to in February, the month is short and sweet since there are only 28 days of hustling and one of those days is valentine, a day devoted to love and being loved. Flowers are being carefully arranged, location of the most romantic dinner are being secretly booked - all of the things to do to impress the love ones. Many people give importance to valentine so much that it becomes competition of who gets the biggest bouquet delivered at work wins. But in the past months, especially in the U.S where there's on going protest against different kind of love, I believe that Valentine should not be special for couples only but should be the day of love regardless of gender or race. It's the day that we treasure everything and everyone we love. Like a saying that says you could buy a person a very special gift or the most beautiful roses, but you can never buy love. After all love is the act of giving without expecting things in return.
However for those singles ladies out there, Valentine is all about treating yourself. One of my resolution this year is to love myself more by accepting all the flaws. So no boys no problem, as long as you are in the comfiest pjs with a bowl of popcorn, wine and Netflix on the bed full of rose petal as your own creation of a romantic night. While the Netflix-n-chill night is what you have in mind, having brunch during the day with your girlfriends can be another great plan to keep you company and no so sick of roses that filled your social feed. Here's some outfit idea for all the independent women out there.
