Each year, December 31st is marked as a farewell to the last bitter and sweet 11 months and the fresh beginning of the new chapter that starts after the countdown. New year has always been about new beginning to many people including myself. What happened in 2016 became a part of history and memory to recall when we thought of what we have been through. However, despite of all the good and bad, each of them turn us into a stronger and better person who understand the meaning of life more each day.
This year’s resolution is simple and tend to not fade off after the new year vibes slowly roll out because I only have one resolution that I believe fit in everything we do in life. My long term resolution is “to focus on the happiness”. As I grew older I learned the hard way that happiness only occur when we let things be and just be happy. Even though it may sound so simple and easy to acomplish, being happy by being easy on myself and let things be have always been a challenge of mine.
Happiness here include the practice of self-love and self-respect. If you look into the mirror and see someone else that is not you, not only you’re not living your authentic self, but also not loving yourself enough to accept all the flaws. This year I want to be able to accept flaws and listen to my body and nourish it with love as it will does the same to me. After all, happiness is the key to life.
Life this year is full of challenges and new chapters that made me scared and excited at the same time. First is my first-time internship with a company that evolve around fashion. The internship is part of the college credit that I chose for a senior thesis report. Then graduating my 4th year as a journalism student will be one of my education milestones. But before that day come, I know for sure that it won’t be an easy ride and there would be hard times. By acknowledging that , I have prepared myself for the high of success and and the low of failures while pursuing my goal.
So, bring it on 2017. Even though I am not a big fan of horoscope but it has promised me that it’s going be a good year for September people, so why not give this year a try.
